Description: Only the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are home to the endemic Andaman Wood Pigeon. It resembles a pigeon in size and has a long tail. It has a pale head and a wide pattern on the neck. Its underparts are pale blue-gray, while its upper parts are dark slate grey. Identification characteristics include an inexperienced sheen on the face, a crimson bill with a yellowish tip, and purplish-red skin on the orbits. The bird is found in a thick evergreen forest with large leaves.
