Scientific Name: Tragopan blythii
Description: The Blyth’s Tragopan is a big, short-tailed bird that resembles a pheasant. Males have a yellow face, bright-red breasts, sides of the neck, and rear of head; their gray underparts contain white patches, and there is a white band at the base of their tail. The birds’ females have brown coloring.
Distribution: The deep evergreen woods’ dense underbrush are the primary habitat of Blyth’s tragopan. The Indian states of Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram, and Manipur are home to this resident bird.
